Willmar, Minn., RV dealership suffers storm damage
WILLMAR -- PleasureLand RV Outlet received significant damage after the storm early Friday morning that brought heavy rain and strong winds to west central Minnesota.
Employees at the RV dealership, which is located on North Highway 71 in Willmar, arrived to work Friday morning to extensive damage.
"I was the first one here, and I thought I needed eye drops, because I couldn't believe what I saw," technician Brian Swedberg said.
PleasureLand's various camping units are usually lined up in perfectly straight rows, sales consultant Alissa Raddatz said. However, Friday morning, dozens of campers had seemingly been picked up by the wind and been moved around the lot, leaving PleasureLand with approximately $60,000 to $70,000 of damage Friday morning, Raddatz said.
"We're out taking pictures right now, and then insurance will come in and figure out our total damage," Raddatz said.
Raddatz said they know a couple units are totaled.
"We'll have our service department work on most of the damage that can be repaired," she said. "We'll do a lot of moving around on the lot today and getting everything back where it's supposed to be and making sure everything is all in good condition. We'll all be helping out today, so it's going to be a long day."
Raddatz said PleasureLand was still open for business as usual while they worked on cleaning up the damage, which will take several days.
"We'll service our customers any way we can," Raddatz said. "We hope they'll understand as we repair some of our damaged units."
