Willmar, Minn., School Board OKs new teacher contract with longer workdays

Email

WILLMAR -- Teachers in the Willmar School District will be working longer days next year, and they'll receive a raise to pay for their extra time.

School administrators hope that the additional time for meetings and planning will help increase student achievement.

The Willmar School Board gave final approval to the 2011-13 contract with the local Education Minnesota bargaining unit Monday afternoon.
