WILLMAR -- The Willmar Municipal Utilities Commission will meet in closed session today to discuss the pending lawsuit of terminated General Manager Bruce Gomm against the utility and the City of Willmar.

The commission will meet at 11:45 a.m. in the Municipal Utilities Auditorium, 700 Litchfield Ave. S.W.

The closed session is allowed under attorney-client privilege terms of state law.

Gomm filed a lawsuit against the city and utilities on March 2. The lawsuit alleges discrimination, breach of contract, fraud and violation of the Open Meeting Law.

The commission voted 5-2 on Feb. 27 to terminate Gomm, effective this Wednesday, based on policy violations and findings in an attorney's investigative report.

In other business, the commission will receive the 2011 audit report, receive the report from the interim co-managers, and honor Commissioner Doug Lindblad, who is going off the commission, and honor long-time City Attorney Rich Ronning, who retires Friday.
