The 26-minute film will be shown at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the second-floor conference room at Christianson and Associates. It will be preceded by a social hour at 4 p.m.

The event is co-hosted by the Willmar Design Center's Becker Market and the organizing board of the Willmar community-owned grocery.

Bedford, of Montague, Mich., works nationally as a filmmaker, strategic campaign and organizing consultant and public speaker. He produces advocacy films and videos promoting a sustainable, locally grown food economy for farmers and consumers. His films have won more than three dozen awards for creative excellence.

The Willmar Design Center's Becker Market is open every Thursday afternoon from June through September on Becker Avenue in downtown Willmar. This year the market is celebrating five years of existence.

The Willmar community-owned grocery is currently under development. The goal of organizers is to make fresh, locally grown food available year round.
