Willmar records 3.5 inches of snow; Bird Island area records highest total in region
WILLMAR — A yardstick wasn’t long enough to measure all of the snow that piled up in Two Harbors, but a 12-inch ruler sufficed for this region.
Willmar recorded 3.50 inches of snow in the winter storm that whipped through the state and ushered in arctic cold, according to National Weather Service records.
Two Harbors on the North Shore recorded just over three feet of snow in the two-day event Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
In west central Minnesota, the biggest snow removal job fell to the residents living seven miles southwest of Bird Island, where 7.80 inches was recorded.
