Willmar routs Prairie Centre

SAUK CENTRE -- Seven different players scored as the Willmar Cardinals cut down Prairie Centre 7-1 in non-conference boys hockey on Friday night.

The win gives the Cardinals their first three-game win streak of the season with the undefeated Little Falls Flyers coming to the Civic Center on Tuesday.

"Everybody was kind of rolling along and that's good coming into seeding," said Willmar coach Dan Tollefson. "It should help our cause."

Prairie Centre goalie Marcus Tomsche faced 58 shots after facing 74 shots the the night before in a 4-0 loss to the Flyers.

Willmar's Jake Tone scored unassisted on a power play for the only goal of the first 17-minute frame.

Willmar poured 25 shots on the opposing net in the second with Grant Schow, Stephan Reynolds, Liam Johnston and Trent Fader getting goals.

Rory Schneider and Zach Chester scored for Willmar in the third. It was the first varsity goals for Reynolds and Chester.

Gabe Amon and Schow had two assists each. Kiefer Dahle got the win in net.
