Willmar sinks Apollo
WILLMAR -- Cassie Yoakum and Ashley Alvarado picked up victories and the Willmar Cardinals sank St. Cloud Apollo 103-81 in a Central Lakes Conference girls swimming and diving dual at the senior high pool on Thursday.
Alvarado won the 500 freestyle and Yoakum the 100 backstroke for the Cardinals.
Alissa Tinklenberg of Willmar reset her recent standard in the 200 individual medley when she posted a winning time of 2:18.80.
Willmar's Aleasha Blokzyl won the 50 freestyle in 26.76 and Lily Dunham finished a fraction of a point out of first in diving.
