Willmar swimmers beat Fergus Falls
FERGUS FALLS -- The Otters won 8 of 12 events but couldn't overcome Willmar's superior depth and lost a Central Lakes Conference water dual 100-86 on Saturday.
Willmar is 5-2 in CLC swimming with only one league meet left at Sauk Rapids Thursday.
The Otters won two relays but Willmar went 2-3 each time so Fergus gained only two points each time.
Willmar victories came in the 50 free (Steve Kluver, 23.12), 100 free (Andy Johnson, 50.53), 100 breaststroke (Ben Saint, 1:09.66) and the 200 freestyle relay team (Kyle Schmidt, Mike McLain, Saint, Johnson, 1:36.37).
Johnson swam two season-bests and diver Bennet Woltjer rated a six-dive, all-time best of 167.25.
