Willmar woman wins national female auctioneer award
WILLMAR -- A Willmar woman is the top female auctioneer in the nation after competing at the National Auctioneers Association's annual conference over the weekend.
Kristine Fladeboe-Duininck, 36, won the title of 2010 International Auctioneer Champion Friday night, edging out 22 other female auctioneers from across the country at the association's annual conference in Greensboro, N.C.
Fladeboe-Duininck, who is a partner in her family's business, Fladeboe Auctions based in Minneapolis and Willmar, will receive $5,000 for wining the contest and will serve as a national ambassador for the organization.
"I found my professional passion when I became an auctioneer, and I look forward to representing auctioneers from across the country in this position in the coming year," said Fladeboe-Duininck.
Her father, Dale, started Fladeboe Auctions in 1978 in Willmar.
Fladeboe-Duininck now owns the company with her father and two siblings, Glen and Kimberly, who are all professional auctioneers.
