Rose Jackson flies 17-10.5 feet in her second of six long jump attempts at the State Class AA Track and Field meet Friday morning at Hamline University in St. Paul.

The senior took third place for her second state medal in the event.

Jackson advanced to Saturday’s finals in both the 100 and 200 dash. She qualified with a 12.25 in the 100 and a 25.57 in the 200.

Also this morning, Willmar Cardinals junior Chris Cunningham ran a 22.88 in the 200 dash but it wasn't enough get him into the top 9 in a blazing field of 21 runners that topped out at 21.85.

The Willmar 4x400 girls relay team of Samantha Hanson, Rose Jackson, Miranda Roelofs and Sophie Schmitz, placed 13th of 16 entries failing to advance. Their time was 4:03.88.
