WILLMAR -- Anyone who has stepped foot outside their home -- or merely stopped to listen -- already knows it's windy today in Minnesota. And it won't end soon.

Strong winds are expected into the evening. The National Weather Service Twin Cities office in Chanhassen issued a wind advisory early this morning for all of central and part of south central Minnesota through 10 p.m., including the Willmar area.

Strong northwest winds will continue across west central and south central Minnesota today and then will subside notably after 10 p.m., the Weather Service said. Sustained speeds of 30 mph, with gusts to 45 mph, are expected.

The Weather Service urges drivers to use caution as the wind will make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles and particularly on roadways oriented east to west.
