Woman charged with felony assault, drug sale
WILLMAR — Jasmine Raye Elizondo, 20, of Willmar, made a first appearance Monday in Kandiyohi County District Court on charges of felony fifth-degree assault, felony fifth-degree drug sale and two counts of felony second-degree drug sale.
The charges stemmed from two separate incidents in Willmar this year.
According to the complaint resulting in the three felony drug charges, the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force conducted one controlled buy of marijuana and four controlled buys of methamphetamine from Elizondo between the dates of March 4 and April 18.
According to the complaint resulting in the felony assault charge, Willmar police officers were called to a reported assault on July 26 in Willmar.Officers arrived on scene at the area of Fifth Street and Rice Avenue Southwest to find a juvenile female crying.The juvenile female reportedly had a red mark on her forehead and said she had been walking on the street when a pickup truck pulled up beside her. A female later identified as Elizondo jumped out and hit her about 10 times, according to the complaint.Elizondo has two prior misdemeanor fifth-degree assault convictions from 2012, which raised the current assault charge to felony level.Bail was set at $10,000 for the felony fifth-degree assault charge and $100,000 for the three felony drug sale charges.An omnibus hearing is scheduled for September 11.
