Woman dies in Meeker County crash

DARWIN -- An 83-year-old Hutchinson woman died after a Tuesday afternoon crash south of Darwin.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, a one-vehicle accident was reported around 1:50 p.m. at County Road 14 and 180th Street. A 2004 Chevy driven by Teresa Peterson was northbound on County Road 14, left the road, traveled several feet in the ditch and struck a tree.

She was transported by ambulance to Hutchinson Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The accident is being investigated by the sheriff's office.
