Woman not hurt in car-horse crash, horse found dead
WATKINS -- An Eden Valley woman was not hurt when her vehicle struck a horse around 10:50 p.m. Sunday along County Road 34 near 350th Street in Watkins.
According to the Meeker County Sheriff's office, Lois Ann Imholte's vehicle struck what she thought was a deer. However, the responding deputy found the deceased animal, a quarter horse, lying nearby in the ditch.
The owners of horse stated it was a 6-year-old quarter horse valued at $3,000. Imholte's mini van sustained major damage.
