Woman sentenced to 81 months in prison for drug sales
WILLMAR -- Sara Lynn McCann, 26, of New London, was sentenced Monday to 81 months in prison on two second-degree drug sale charges for selling methamphetamine.
The sentence was handed down in Kandiyohi County District Court. McCann was also ordered to pay $100 in fines with prison earnings and given credit for 127 days already served in jail.
As part of a plea agreement, one of the charges was amended down from a first-degree charge and two additional charges for drug possession and for storing drug paraphernalia in the presence of a child were dismissed.
The charges were filed last August, after agents from the CEE-VI Drug Task Force were informed by a confidential informant that McCann had sold drugs from her home within the past 72 hours. The informant also said that McCann had more meth in her home and that her young child was present in the room when the drug sale happened.
Agents served a search warrant on McCann's home and found 34 grams of meth in a pouch hidden in a tissue box. Also found in the home were scales, lighters, glass pipes, torches and liquid from a meth pipe.
Agents also found two meth pipes in the closet of her 1-year-old child's bedroom.
Agents also personally served a search warrant on McCann in her vehicle. She was arrested for driving after suspension. A total of $2,300 in cash was found on her person.
