The Warriors hit just 11 of 28 foul shots overall and missed 10 free throws in the second half.

“If we would have shot just 50 percent we would have won by one point,” said Warriors head coach Carrie Ogdahl. “We fought back, we played hard but we were just off (from the foul line) the entire game. I’m kind of dumbfounded by it. That’s the game right there.”

The Warriors blew a good opportunity to get back into the playoff mix in the MCAC Southern Division. Ridgewater fell to 2-4 in the division while Fergus Falls improved to 4-2 and in second place behind Southern-leader Anoka-Ramsey.

“We played hard, we didn’t quit,” Ogdahl said. “But we missed a chance.”

Ridgewater trailed by seven at halftime and Fergus Falls pumped up their lead to 16 points before Ridgewater began pressing with about 11 minutes to play.

The Warriors cut into the lead but couldn’t get by Fergus Falls, which hit 13 of 18 second-half free throws.

Jessica Kalenberg led the Warriors with 19 points and she also had 5 rebounds. Raeann Sorenson had 15 points and a team-high 7 rebounds, and Kristin Phillip hit a 3-pointer and added 7 assists and 5 boards.

Cameo McNeley scored 12 points and Lynsey Runke had 10 and was only one of two Warriors to shoot at least 50 percent from the foul line, hitting 4 of 8 attempts.

Rhoda Christenson had 22 points and Alyssa Blair had 21 for Fergus Falls.

The Warriors are off until taking on Rochester at home on Wednesday.
