The Warriors shot just 27 percent and fell to the Bluejays 72-51 on Wednesday at the Ridgewater College gym.

“You can’t shoot 27 percent against a team like that,” said Warriors head coach Carrie Ogdahl. “Defensively, I think we did a really nice job. We got the lead down to 12 in the second half but if we would have made the game a little closer in the first half it could have made it a different game.”

The Warriors fell to 1-1 in the South and 8-5 overall. They play at Riverland, in Austin, on Saturday.

The Bluejays improved to 3-0 in the conference and 13-3 overall.

Ridgewater’s Raeann Sorenson scored 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.

Jessie Kalenberg finished with 12 point and Rachel Ampe added 11 points and 5 boards.

The Bluejays had four players score in double figures, led by Kristen Andersen’s 21 points. She also had 9 rebounds.
