“We were just shellshocked,” said Warriors head coach Carrie Ogdahl. We weren’t ready for that (level of play).”

NDSCS improved to 6-1 while the Warriors fell to 1-1.

Ridgewater plays next at home against Mesabi East at 6 p.m. Friday.

Despite the Wildcats’ advantages on the perimeter and in the paint, the Warriors were within 14 points at halftime.

About five minutes later, the Wildcats led by 40, Ogdahl said.

“That was a tough game for us,” Ogdahl said. “But we’ll learn. We’ll be better next time.”

Raeann Sorenson led the Warriors with 9 points and Jessie Kalenberg had 8.

Sorenson and Brooke Wuertz led Ridgewater with 7 rebounds each.

NDSCS’ Jasmine McGillvary scored 20 points and Lashonda Curtis had 15 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals.
