Ridgewater College got a rare victory over the NJCAA Division I Wildcats on Tuesday evening 68-55.

Four players reached double figures for the Lady Warriors. Cameo McNeley sank 6 of 13 shots on the way to 15 points followed by Courtney Kramer with 14, Raeann Sorenson with 13 and Jessica Kalenberg with 10.

Sorenson picked off 11 rebounds and Kalenberg 9 caroms.

The Cats used 12 players while Ridge coach Carrie Ogdahl got by just fine with a three-deep bench.

"This team just plays so hard," she said. "We were up by 18 against a good basketball team at half."

"They got it down to four but we just got more aggressive against their match-up zone which had been giving us trouble."

Victories over the team from Wahpeton, N.D., are rare. At one point recently in the rivalry, Ridgewater was 1-11 against the Cats.

Lynsey Runke dished out 6 assists and Kandace Taylor and Kristin Phillipp each had a pair of steals.

Ridgewater shot 44 percent from the field and made 8 of 12 free throws while the Cats shot 38 percent from the floor and sank just 1 of 7 at the line. That helped the Lady Warriors overcome 28 turnovers.

Ridgewater has until Nov. 30 to improve its ball control when they are at International Falls to play Rainy River CC.

The Warriors and NDSCS meet again Dec. 5 at Wahpeton.
