WILLMAR — The Ridgewater women’s basketball team dominated the boards and, consequently, the scoreboard against Rochester on Wednesday night at the Ridgewater gym,

The Warriors out-rebounded Rochester by almost 20 and had four players score in double figures in a 59-33 victory.

Ridgewater improved to 3-4 in the MCAC Southern Division and 13-7 overall. Rochester is 0-8 in the division and 3-17 overall.

Ridgewater limited the Yellowjackets to 27 percent shooting, including 1 of 12 shooting from the 3-point arc.

The Warriors also held a 28-12 advantage on the offensive glass, leading to a 16-4 edge in second-chance points.

One of the smallest players on the Ridgewater roster, Lynsey Runke, nonetheless had nine offensive rebounds and led the Warriors with 13. Runke also scored 10 points and had 3 assists.

Kristin Phillip led the Warriors with 16 points and 5 steals.

Courtney Kramer had 12 points and 8 rebounds and she also blocked 3 shots.

Raeann Sorenson scored 11 points and Cameo McNeley scored 4 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.

The Warriors play next against Minnesota West at 1 p.m. Saturday in Willmar.
