The Warriors trailed by 12 points midway through the first half before head coach Carrie Ogdahl switched to a 2-3 zone.

Ridgewater got the lead down to four by halftime, then the Warriors outscored Riverland 42-21 after the break.

The Warriors improved to 2-1 in the conference and 9-5 overall.

“We’re off to a good start,” Ogdahl said. “We’re where we want to be at this point in the season.”

Jessie Kalenberg scored 25 points and also had 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 4 blocked shots.

Kalenberg led four players in double figures.

Courtney Kramer finished with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocked shots, Brooke Wuertz had 14 points and 8 boards, and Rachel Ampe had 13 points and 8 rebounds.

Ridgewater has played just one home game since Dec. 7 but now play four of their next six at home, starting with Wednesday’s 6 p.m. matchup with Western Wisconsin Tech at the Ridgewater College gym.
