The Warriors shot just 23 percent from the field and committed 26 turnovers in the 61-43 loss.

“This hurts,” said Warriors head coach Carrie Ogdahl, whose team fell to 2-2 in the South Division and 12-5 overall. “Their defense killed us. They’re very quick and they took it at us. Every turnover, they converted it into points.”

Free throw shooting kept the Warriors within shouting distance of the Cavaliers. Ridgewater his 16 of 23 foul shots, but a 26-to-11 turnover advantage helped Western Wisconsin score 17 points off turnovers.

“That was the ballgame, right there,” Ogdahl said.

Raeann Sorenson his a pair of 3-pointers and led the Warriors with 13 points. Sorenson, Lynsey Runke, who scored 8 points, and Cameo McNeley all had 7 rebounds.

The Warriors play at Anoka Ramsey on Saturday before returning home for three straight games at the Ridgewater gym.
