Women's college basketball: Warriors thrash Central Lakes

BRAINERD — Raeann Sorenson knocked down six 3-pointers on the way to scoring a game-high 22 points and Jessie Kalenberg added another 20 points Friday to spark Ridgewater past the Central Lakes Raiders at the Central Lakes Invite.

Ridgewater (7-2) was 6-for-10 from beyond the arc in the first half and finished 9-for-17. Kalenberg made two treys and Kristin Phillipp added another.

The Warriors went on a 19-2 run to close out the first half after the teams were tied at 17.

Lynsey Runke supplied 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals — all team-highs — and Phillipp also had 4 assists and 3 steals along with 7 rebounds for Ridgewater.

Ridgewater beat Central Lakes 77-53 last Saturday in Willmar.

The Warriors play Rainy River today at noon in Brainerd before taking three weeks off for the winter break. Rainy River beat Ridgewater by 20 points earlier this season.
