Workshop on connecting with military families planned

WILLMAR -- Area churches and community organizations are invited to attend a Community Care Conference workshop on building relationships with military families and veterans on May 9.

The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Willmar Assembly of God.

The workshop is intended to provide an understanding of the needs and ways to respond to military families through churches and communities.

Military Home Front and the Minnesota National Guard Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Team will present the workshop. It will address how families are affected by deployments and how to build networks to minister to the families of deployed service members. Speakers will include service members who work with the families of those who are deployed.

The cost is $10 per person, which includes lunch. For more information, contact Darlene Wetterstrom at 651-282-4288.
