The Falcons' Travis Frederiksen beat Tyler Yule 8-4. Yule later won the 152-pound state title.

That started a Falcon streak of four straight wins good for a 24-23 lead with two matches left. But the Tigers' Reid Balzer at 215 and Tom Schroht at 285 both won close decisions, 4-1 and 5-3, over James Nelson and Dylan Nelson, respectively, to pull out the win.

Hayden Rouser got a pin at 112 and Matt Meyer a decision at 130 but Medford wrestlers won the next three matches for a 23-9 lead after 145. At 135, the Falcons' Mike Kramer lost in four overtimes, 6-5.

Frederiksen, Travis Whitcomb, Micah Larson by decisions and Deron Buboltz with a first-period pin gained 15 points and the temporary lead.

In its sixth straight state show, ACGC finished 24-4 losing only to teams that finished first, second or third at the state tournament.
