YME to hold public meeting on $14M project
GRANITE FALLS -- Elmo Volstad will continue as chair and Grant Velde will serve as vice chair of the Yellow Medicine East School Board, board members decided at their meeting on Monday.
Along with reorganizational matters, board members discussed a tentative contract agreement with the district's instructors and plans for an informational meeting on the $14 million air quality and heating project, according to Superintendent Al Stoeckman.
Instructors in the district will be voting on the contract Thursday. Board members will be holding a special meeting at 6 p.m. that day to ratify the two-year agreement if it is approved by the teachers, he said.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Board members will also set the date for a public information meeting at the end of the month on the air and heating project.
Board members have heard a variety of questions from residents, and decided to host a meeting to outline the plans, Stoeckman said.
