Hayloft Players’ ‘HONK Jr.’ opens tonight at The Barn Theatre in Willmar, Minn.

WILLMAR — The Barn Theatre presents the student Hayloft production of “HONK! Jr.”

Performances are 7 p.m. today and Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday at The Barn Theatre in downtown Willmar. The $5 general admission tickets are on sale now, reservations are suggested.

The musical “HONK! Jr.” is the story of Ugly, played by Jason Malmgren, an awkward duck whose gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along his rollicking and harrowing journey, he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny but also finds love and acceptance in all its forms.

It is directed by Nikki Bettcher Erickson with Pauline Prawl as the choregrapher.

Members of the cast also include Annie Schaefbauer, Karl Olsen, Holly West, Aubrey Schueler, Greta Olsen, Erik Olsen, Makenna Brouwer, Sonja Madsen, Eleanor Schmitz, Abigail Thompson, Marah West, Sarah Olsen, Isaac Larson, Gabriel Fernandez, Hannah Olsen, Kayla Fernandez, Emily Malmgren, Michael Price and Anneka Olsen.
