SMAHC grant deadlines lsited

The Southwest Minnesota Arts and Humanities Council has announced several grant deadlines. The guidelines and application form can be viewed and downloaded from the SMAHC website at

Arts Challenge grants help local arts organizations develop self-sufficiency to by increasing local support. Arts organizations that have a planned fundraising drive or campaign set to begin on or after Oct. 1 can apply for this round. Deadline is Sept. 4. SMAHC will match dollar for dollar up to $500. Funds will be allocated until the entire amount of this program has been exhausted.

Arts and Learning grants are open to schools, communities, and non-profit organizations. It provides matching grants for up to $2,500 for artist residencies, up to $750 for pre-packaged theatre residencies, and up to $600 for field trips. Each school or organization is limited to $2,500 in Arts in Learning grant funds per year. Deadline is Oct. 1 for projects starting after Dec. 1.

Individual Study Opportunity provides up to $500 to artists of all ages and disciplines to engage in quality study opportunities. Some possibilities include professional mentorship, workshops, camps, or classes. This grant program is for artists in any stage of their career. Contact the SMAHC office with any questions about possible projects and eligibility. Funds may not be used towards college tuition for credit. Deadline is Oct. 1 for projects starting after Dec. 1.
