DAWSON — Comedian Cy Amundson will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Auditorium as part of Winterfest weekend activities in Dawson.
With energetic storytelling, observations and fun crowd interaction, Amundson's brand of stand-up comedy is all his own.
Growing up one of nine children in rural Minnesota, his Dad's strict television rules left him with few evening options other than Nick At Night. It was among the countless hours with Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore and Lucille Ball that Cy began to fall in love with comedy.
In his early 20s, he moved to Minneapolis to cut his teeth at one of the most reputable comedy clubs in the country — ACME Comedy Company.
According to reviews, he uses his uncanny ability for joke writing, coupled with his affable stage persona to individualize a performance that his audience won't soon forget, and that would make his comedy heroes proud.
Tickets are $14 for adults and $5 for students and are available online at www.dawsonboydarts.org and will also be available at the door.
