WILLMAR — The Barn Theatre presents “The Marriage Go Round” at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday and Feb. 13-15, with 2:30 p.m. Sunday matinees on Feb. 9 and 16.

The romantic comedy from 1959 is about how a sexy young woman from Sweden, played by Kirstyn Harasyn, disrupts the happy but staid marriage of a couple of middle-aged academics when she declares that she wants the husband to father a baby with her.

The premise of the comedy, written by Leslie Stephens, comes from the often-told story in which dancer Isadora Duncan tells playwright George Bernard Shaw that with her great beauty and his great brains, they would produce the most perfect baby.

“But what if the child inherits my beauty and your brains?” Shaw was said to have replied.

Dana Anderson and Denise Deaner play the married couple and Chad Tallon is a friend of the wife.

It is directed by Jan Buzzeo, with Sabrina Rime as assistant director and Aane Twedt as the technical director. Costumes are by Zack Liebl and props by Paulette Korsmo.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for ages 18 and younger. Tickets are available at the box office, 321 Fourth St. S.W. in downtown Willmar or by calling 320-235-9500.
