Bus trips

Bus trips by community education and other nonprofit groups to arts-related events are listed below according to the date of the event. Price must be included.

Kandiyohi County Historical Society: Bus trip to Minneapolis on July 30 to "Step into the heart of Swedish America" with a tour of the American Swedish Institute's Turnblad Mansion and Museum including a "smorgasbord" buffet and the program "Immigrant trunk." Cost is $55 per person. Bus leaves Kandiyohi County Historical Society at 8:45 a.m. Registration and payment required by July 24, call 320-235-1881.

Book lecture

Will Weaver will speak at 7:30 p.m. May 15 at Common Cup in Morris. He will read passages from his books and answer questions. A native of northern Minnesota, Weaver writes fiction for adults and young adults. His books have been made into feature films, television movies and have won numerous awards. His young adult books are widely used in schools.

Book signing

Nathan Jorgenson will sign copies of his book "Waiting for White Horses and Mulligan" from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Book World in the Kandi Mall in Willmar.
