Partners in Praise Girls Choir in Montevideo Saturday night

MONTEVIDEO -- The "Partners in Praise" Girls Choir from the Twin Cities will be performing a special concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Montevideo Fine Arts Center.

The concert will feature an array of choral arrangements, ranging from traditional sacred pieces to contemporary international works.

Partners in Praise is a "spirited, highly disciplined," group of 8th to 12th grade girls from the Twin Cities who love to sing. Besides local performances, the choir competes each year in national and international choir festivals. Last summer they placed second in an international sacred music festival in Greece and received a "Special Award for Best Original Performance" of the old hymn "Amazing Grace."

The Montevideo High School Varsity Women's Choir also will be performing on Saturday night. Dan Hampton is the director of the 9th and 10th grade girls' choir which will do its own set of songs. They will finish by performing "It's a Wonderful World" together with Partners in Praise.

The concert will appeal to all ages, and parents and grandparents are encouraged to bring young children to the concert.

Complimentary tickets are available in Montevideo at Java River Café, Valentino's, Thrifty White, and all Minnwest and KleinBank locations. Tickets also are available by calling toll-free 888-294-6747.
