New London, Minn., Music Festival offers live music today in Neer Park
NEW LONDON -- The New London Music Festival is set for noon to 6 p.m. today in New London.
The family-friendly day of eclectic live music is in Neer Park, a shady peninsula surrounded by the scenic Crow River. Along with the music there are kids' activities including a bouncy castle.
There is a wide assortment of talented, authentic musicians and entertainers. Between the acts there will be crowd pleasers from the local scene including Haily Rooney, Andrew Renneker, Joe Nelson and Don & Shelby.
Opening the day will be The Three Amigos from noon to 1 p.m.
The Galactic Cowboy Orchestra will play original and traditional bluegrass-edged tunes from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m.
The Charlie Wilson Trio performs a mix of jazz and soul pop from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Steve Kaul and The Brass Kings will be on stage from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. with one guy playing a broom handle ... you've never seen anything like this before.
Finishing the day will be 3 Penny Acre, a folk/American trio from Arkansas. They have been called "a vocal freight train."
Food will be available, including sandwiches and drinks from Gilday's and farmers market meals and goodies.
Tickets are $10 at the show.
