Erin Johnson and Elliot Ballance, both of Minneapolis, are engaged to be married Jan. 2 at Salem Covenant Church in Pennock.

Johnson is the daughter of Craig and Renee Johnson of Sunburg.
She is a 2004 graduate of Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg High School in Kerkhoven and a 2008 graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a degree in marketing.
The groom is the son of Hayward and Alice Ballance of St. Francis.
He is a 2001 graduate of St. Francis High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a degree in cell biology.
