As members of the Patriot Guard Riders, my husband and I were proud to stand in the flag line to show honor and respect for your son.
May he rest in peace.

Rest my child, our lives with you were blessed. Although our tears are many, with God we know you rest.

I do not know your family, however, my heart goes out to you as you try to make sense of your loss. Peace, prayers and blessings are sent your way. May you find some comfort in knowing your son, now an angel, is watching over you. God rest his heroic soul.

I am so sorry for your loss. It seems so senseless, but then all sudden loss is, and God Forbid that we are ever able to become immune to it. I gave both of my sons a hug in honor of yours, and you are in my prayers for peace and healing. God Bless James and his brothers-in-arms.

Words do not and cannot express the grief your family has over the loss of your son, over the loss of a friend, a comrade, a hero. Your family has my condolences. Thank you to your son, and his brothers and sisters in the military, who have served and continue to serve our country. The sacrifices the soldier makes are unmatchable and the humility with which they serve, in what is sometimes a thankless job, is humbling. Again, my prayers are with your family. God bless.

The family of Spc. James Wertish,

I know many people from the Olivia area, and I met James a few times. That was all it took to know what a great person he was. He was so kind-hearted and a friend to everyone, he will be greatly missed. It amazes me, that at such a young age, he was ready to fight for his country. He is the definition of a hero, you must be so proud of how brave and courageous he was. My thoughts and prayers are with you, especially today, as James is brought home to his family and friends. His sacrifice for all of us will never be forgotten. May God bless all of you at this difficult time.
