Laurie, you're right, Harold should have read that before he posted it, not real sure what was going on there.... However, how can you say that the police officer was stupid? If the Prof. wouldn't have freaked out on the officer, the officer would have never had to arrest him in the first place, the Prof turned a mistake into a national event because he is racist, just like the president who called the cop stupid before he even knew the scenario. You want more proof that Obama is tainted? Look at his supreme court nominee, I am serious here. She is obviously not judging by how she interprets the law, but rather by what she wants the outcome to be. She thought that because no black people passed the test, we should make the test easier so they could. What!? How is that okay? So now we are telling people that race doesn't matter, unless your black and can't pass the same test everyone else got. This article was on Collin Peterson so I should say one thing about him. any "conservative" that votes for cap and trade is not a "conservative"

Collin Peterson is a 'democrat-in-name-only'. His positions are far more conservative than most Democrats, and, apparently, that's the way his constituents like it. Will Republicans try to 'outconservative' him? That's the only way they have a prayer.

Well, I ran in the Democratic primary against Peterson in 2006--on an anti-war platform--because his office had indicated there was not much anti-war sentiment in the district. I received a disappointing 14% of the vote, which suggests to me that Peterson was, in fact, in touch with his district.

Peterson doesn't deserve to be in office when he is to scared to listen to the homefolks that he is supposed to be representing. Or maybe the number one priority is represent the democratic party first and the people that pay his salary last. It seems like any excuse to avoid meeting with someone who may object to the way he is representing us will work. Just spin some imaginary reason not to hold meetings and get the common mans opinion. I suspect if he stays where he is everybody is patting each other on the shoulders on what a great job they have been doing and he wouldn't have to answer a few honest questions.

This is a classic case of making a mountain out of a molehill. Rep. Peterson has done a good job and makes tough decisions to benefit his constituents. There are many times when the average constituent doesn't have the depth of understanding to take in the whole picture. It is then that critical voices arise and weak politicians crumble. Collin Peterson does not crumble. It is comical as well as unwise that the GOP takes cheap shots like this. Thinking constituents see through the smear campaign as just a feeble attempt to make a difference. I would rather see the GOP try to create an action plan that does something to address our issues, as opposed to finger-pointing and sideshows.
