I never thought I would see the day law enforcement would be effected by layoffs and days off! I hear some jailers will be laid off which is not fair. The county seemed to be doing pretty good with filling the jail in recent years, and making millions for the county. I guess when the money falls short people are forgotten. I don't blame some unions for not excepting the day off proposal. Lay-offs are coming regardless so I guess those being laid off will also lose a days pay. Law-enforcement, along with fireman, and paramedics should not be laid off, or have reduced hours because it is a matter of public safety, someone tell the governor that!
