Is she related to Michelle Bachmann? Their thought processes (or lack thereof) work along the same lines.

Understandably, you get what you pay for. I know what I pay for. It is not obviously what you pay for.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "DEATH PANEL!" Honestly, all it ever said was that there would be payment for a consult with your doctor so that he/she would be fully aware of your wishes regarding your end-of-life options, including if you want everything possible done for you at the end,and information regarding programs like hospice. If you don't already have a living will, and a medical power of attorney you really should. If you haven't thought about these issues, and discussed them with your doctor and your family, you should. Last, to you Ted, do you seriously think your health insurance company doesn't make decisions regarding your treatment and care? From procedures they won't cover, to the medications listed on your "approved" list for various ailments, your insurance company makes decisions on your medical care every day.

The senate is appaerently removing end of life wording in the yet to be released version of thier bill because it could be misinterpreted or implemented incorrectly. Think about this and what would your conclusion be? Allow the government to be intimatly involved in your "end of life" decisions. They would notible be holding the purse strings and analyizing your condition. Since the treatment is tied to both money and the statistical data of cost versus success for the given treatment what chance would you have of getting the government to cover the bills?, Wouldn't there be a likelyhood that Americans would see less miricles in the future because of the hesitation to put money into statisically doomed illness's? Or to summarize, Death Panels.

It is amazing how this rumor about so called "death panels" will not go away! I was at a meeting the other evening where someone who is in the insurance business insisted that not only would everyone on Medicare be required to meet with this panel, but would have to follow the recommendations or their treatment would not be paid for! I am not sure where the miscommunication regarding the health care issue is coming from, the White House not getting out the pertinent (and correct) info or the lobbyists who are spreading propaganda, but it would be really nice to at some point get an unbiased summary of what it is that the health care reform will actually do and how the it will change health care for the average American.

Death Panels? Not even worth commenting about. Not ever in the bill.
