The Norwegian committee who first nominated him in February, and then voted to grant him the award just yesterday stated that the intent was to award Obama for his vision, his ambition, and his intentions... they said, outright, that the Nobel was given to Obama based on the potential he represents and presents to the world. Not about accomplishments. I don't understand why the improved global perception of the United States is being downgraded so much.

I agree with Craig. We have gone from a bullying type of Gov. to using a diplomatic approach and Obama was rewarded by those in charge of this award for this change in venue.
