I was not surprised that the Obama haters would be out in force making claims that the president doesn't deserve the Noble Peace prize. I mean did we expect any different from some of these church going Christians who love to comment on this site against the president. I for one can see why he was chosen. Obama did a great deal of community work within the poor neighborhoods of Chicago, and has always worked with the poor and the churches before he went into political office. Despite what Rick has stated, Obama is a peace maker and that is one of the main qualifications to receive the Noble prize. He has reached out to other nations, in an effort to rid the world of nukes, and bring peace to the world. He has also supported education, and has been an advocate of making sure those unfortunate, and poverty stricken crime ridden neighborhoods, attend schools, and educate themselves out of poverty. He was a community activist, and joined churches from other neighborhoods together, in an effort to improve the neighborhoods that were struggling. Obama was paid next to nothing by the church for his work, and he was fine with that. He showed people how to speak up for themselves in an educated manner, and showed them they had a voice in their community. His past deeds are not over looked, and when it came down to the committee selecting the president, he was as surprised as anyone. The mere fact he donated the 1.4 million to charity, demonstrates Obama as being a class act. For those who have trashed Obama's accomplishments, our themselves showing the ignorance that still occupies our nation. To rob Obama of his accomplishments, and his desire to do good in the world is just another sign of envy, and ignorance which seems to border on party lines! The fact he was elected as president of the US, seemed to bring about some harmony throughout the world, because it showed everyone that in the US anything is possible if you work hard. This was another example of an unselfish and caring political figure that seemed to have brought more people together, and he is truly an inspiration. Good job president, your a fine example of what the US is about, and I am proud to see an American win the prize. I feel we have over came some barriers that had held some qualified, and respectable people from getting to the top just because they were judged by the color of their skin and not their character or their ability. Once again history is being made.

Guess what people, it isn't our prize to give. The Norwegians award it and THEY get to pick who THEY think is worthy. They deemed Obama worthy. Get over it and get on with your day.
