Lynn so you are saying war= kill the other guy until he quits. No kidding Lynn but do you think we can kill all the terrorists without staying in Afghanistan for the next twenty years? War of lies = a war with no end!

Kim I understand your feelings, but turning against a culture for the misdeeds of their leaders, is not the answer. We welcome the oppressed, the victims of civil war, and the poor, no matter what culture they are, that is who we are, and why we are this great country! Kim its easy to blow things up, and kill people, but its much easier building things up, and keeping the peace. There is bad in every culture, so who are we to say who is a terrorist? Radicals will enter this country no matter what we do, and the fact of the matter is we have radicals now, who were born and raised here. My family wasn't welcomed with open arms when they came to America from Germany, and it didn't feel good being harassed by those who figured all Germans were Nazi's. In fact, there were many good German people who didn't like their leader, including my grandmother and her sons. My grandmother could not stand the hate, and told us she never wanted to live in that type of environment ever again. Her oldest son my uncle flew fighter planes in WWII, that is how he felt about what his former country had become, and he was all for defending the US. My other uncle had flat feet, otherwise he would have been in the war as well.

There is no doubt, both sides jumped to conclusions, and sent us into two wars that cost so many Americans their lives. We must learn from those mistakes, even if it takes long thought, and a plan of action. Since we are probably not going to bomb the daylights out of Afghanistan, sending in 40 thousand more troops means prolonging a war that may have to be fought another 10 years. Russia went bankrupt while we helped the Afghan people, probably to pay Russia back for helping the Cong in Vietnam. I have stated before why should we put on a cape and fly around the world fighting? People want us to be the big brother, but then turn on us after awhile. Lets just bring back the troops, help out the veterans, and move towards more world peace. Let the Middle East start to govern themselves, after all they do have plenty of our money.
