First time I read the headline I thought it said "historic monument". Hmm, maybe that makes more sense, considering all of the pages involved.

I find it somewhat disingenous to learn we will have 5 years of tax collection(2009 to the end of 2013) followed by five years of "reformed" healthcare costing $900 billion plus(that is a lot of plus). This does not include the $251 Medicare physician payment bill which has not been decided how it will be paid for. It has been kept separate and out of the announcement today. . I wonder what the 11th year cost will be?

Get over it Kevin E. Health reform is coming whether you know anything about it or not. Apparently you don`t.

I want to know how our elected politicians in Washington define the word "affordable"... because, if it is defined in the manner that the Baucus Bill defined it, it is NOT affordable to those people in middle-low income brackets. I am all for health care/insurance reform... I really am - I am even in favor of a public option. But it doesn't seem to me that Washington has any clue about how the "average" American's finances are already strapped to the max, and how the "average" American defines "affordable". It also doesn't seem that Washington understands the meaning of "option"... seems to me that it is a mandatory option - either enroll, or pay fines. The intent here, while honorable in concept... sure has fallen short in the implementation.
