Carie L. Come and live in Willmar and you will see the vandalism that has been done in neighborhoods not far from mine with the gang symbols and signs written all over the place! I am a productive member of society and hope to raise my family to be the same way, and to live in this community and see this happening disgusts me. I hope the local authorities can put an end to this before it becomes a huge issue.

Will - I sincerely am not intending to be disrespectful here, but - do you have some kind of scientific data you can present to support the statements you just posted? If you are going to claim that there is a particular group of humans that are born with a proclivity for violence and anti-social behavior (ie; it's in their blood), then I certainly would like you to back that up with some fact.

Economic conditions like ours make for a breeding ground for "gangs". In this case, groups of underprivileged with nothing to contribute to society and no willingness to change that. Basically grouped together as protection (both literally and figuratively) due to their illicit ways of making money and the nature of everything that goes along with it. Prostitution and drug running is their main source of income. The more people, the more shared responsibility. Willmar is small enough, local authorities already know the hot spots and just need the evidence to put them away.

Gangs??? Hummmm. Not good for Willmar. Gang members are of NO value to society. Take away their weapons, get them alone, see how tough they are.
