Larry you seldom ask questions you give sermons and give your opinion. Russia failed because they went broke, do the research and for once get your facts right. Like Mike stated Joe McCarthy maybe dead but his spirit still lives on. He was proven to be a radical and out of control.

Larry when you add people who otherwise have no insurance and give them low cost insurance it lowers the premiums for everyone, and allows companies to compete and give better prices. Better oversight against fraud and waste will make up the 400 million, and is not going to break medicare, Besides we gave billions more to Iraq! Doctors will be paid the medicare rates, plus 5%. We are talking over 45 million without any coverage. Tell me Larry, what are you worried about in the first place? No one is taking your insurance, and no one is raising your rates. You Larry, just look for something to rag about because it has to do with the left. John tell me this, if private companies don't need government aid because they do just fine on their own, then why are you and others on the far right worried about government health care competing? Also if the government ignored companies like AIG, the banks, and the auto industry, where do you think they would be? More lost jobs is one answer AND A MUCH HIGHER UNEMPLOYMENT PERCENTAGE. We allowed corporate America to grow, and to produce, while providing jobs, then we watched the irresponsible spending, that should have closed their doors for all the greed they engaged in. But the government you people despise, came to their aid, and they still resorted to irresponsible spending with tax payers money, and more lost jobs. Then some of you sit here and say the government intervention does the opposite. Sorry I don't agree, especially after many companies came back to the government to get more bailout money. They came to the government John, the government didn't go to them! We are the government John, the government is the people, and for the people, which is why Bush, Obama and McCain voted to bailout these companies. The damage that failure would have caused would have really sent America into a full fledge depression. Jon you have your numbers twisted, because the high unemployment was not the fault of Obama, especially after he injected billions into the stimulus. Where do you get your info, from, oxy Rush? When Bush left office unemployment was around 8%, and it did nothing but grow. This is what is called trickle down effect. Why don't you just blame Obama for the two wars, since you are sure this recession was Obama's fault! Unemployment followed the closing of businesses, and the down sizing, are all due to the failed economy. People panicked, and stopped spending. They took major loses on their retirement thanks to Wallstreet, and our auto industry was failing to compete, but steadily getting bailout money from the government to stay afloat. I was against bailing the auto industry out, because they exemptlified greed, but I understood the concept of lost jobs, if the government stood by and just watched. Some of you people whine about what the government does not do yet you forget the money being spent to fight two wars. as we protect our inerests in the middle east, and it is much higher then any health care reform.

Larry H...........are you kidding me? You are actually expecting answers? I have been asking questions for months.......and no answers. The reason you get no answers........because the talking points don't(or can't) answer the questions we are asking. Last night I actually had thoughts of just shutting down my business and just working my day job....it really doesn't pay to work hard anymore....you just get called greedy. I know I will keep it going but it is getting harder and harder to maintain the motivation with the heavy push to become lazy by our current far left dem party.

Interesting - it took less than a year for the right to turn the Bush train wreck into the Obama train wreck. Better yet - is Cal Thomas crediting Fox News and Rush Limbaugh for saving us from the clutches of communist takeover! Joe McCarthy may be dead, but his spirit certainly lives on.

you can count all the jobs that are, "so called, created by the stimulus, all you want. but what is the bottom line? less that 8% unemployment when BO took office, and over 10% now, even with all the stimulus passed, that is costing all of us tax dollars, money spent by our gov't, that we do not have. what the liberals don't seem to understand, is that government jobs created, do not solve anything, because the government does not create new business, in order to pay for these jobs, it has to raise taxes on the rest of us. the federal reserve prints more money, loans it to the government, and causes inflation, which is an invisible tax on the public. I know the libs like to blame everything on bush, and yes, he , with the democratic congress also made some decisions. but how long can obama keep blaming bush for the economy getting worse since he took over. everything he wants to do, whether it is stimulus bills, bank bailouts, auto bailouts, cap and trade, or the healthcare bill, raises taxes on the public, and that is the last thing we need in a depression is to raise taxes on private individuals and small businesses.

John who did Bush bail out? Get with history Johnny boy you are out of the loop or you are brainwashed. Two wars still going, a jobless rate at 8%, when he left office, and more money invested in the middle east then you or I can count. Lets talk about the Bush advisers who steered the economy into a brick wall, at a high speed. Bush did more damage then he did good, and 27% approval rating backs that up! The spending done by BO was done in America and there are at least five states where jobs were created by the stimulus. Lets see jobs created by the stimulus, Colorado, 4,695 Washington, 2.905, Calforina, 3,260, Florida, 11,639, Tennessee 1,350. Just imagine with no stimulus for a moment without being selfish, and self righteous.

Like Joe stated the Soviet Union fell because they were going broke. They were trying to maintain a wall of so called privacy and making it difficult if not impossible to leave the Soviet union. What is all this nonsense about leftist or their inability to admit they were wrong? Wrong about what? Russia spend millions and millions on weapons and military equipment. They deployed spies and invested more money in their ability to protect their empire. Although Regan stated "tear down this wall" the removal of the wall was already in motion, Russia could not afford the costs and the man power to defend this wall. There were millions of oppressed people who wanted out, so Russia decided it would be much cheaper to just let them go. Russia's economy did collapse, they were a dictatorship, a communist country.

So John should we just get rid of government jobs then? You people have no idea what you are even talking about. The jobs that the government produces has people working, so tell me John, what would the economy be without any government jobs? I guess we can close all the private prisons that the government and state used to house their prisoners, and put thousands of people out of work. John many corporations came to the government with their hands out, because they failed, and Bush and Obama bailed them out. Larry you show only have the facts, and Mr Cal your beloved savior forgot to mention why the wall in Russia actually fell. Their economy went into the toliet, they were broke, and were selling off their military weapons. They were so broke they couldn't pay attention. The cry of communism are coming was the biggest farce since UFO'S. Over fifty years ago we were accusing fellow Americans of being communists. During the civil rights conflict people were calling the blacks that tried to attend the white high schools under military guard, down south, communisits. What was the cold war? We spy on you, and you spy on us. Problem was they went broke, and that had nothing to do with us or our democracy. There was so much fraud, and greed, and an expensive military up keep, that it hurt them and the people. They invested more in military build up, then they did in their own people. If anyone was speaking of false holds it was the dictators who controlled Russia, and disposed of anyone who spoke against them, or imprisoned them. Tell me this, we ended up with many Russians coming across our borders legally or illegal, and that tells me that there were underlying problems with Russia, and their oppressive leadership. Russia believed in communisim, and operated as a communist country. Even historians are capable of errors. Regan was given far too much credit for the collapse of the wall, when he merely spoke to Gorbachev to reconsider removing the wall. Neoconservatives are eager to extract parables to illuminate the present which includes Mr Cal. The Soviet Union merely came to the conclusion that maintaining the wall, and that their empire, was no longer affordable, bottom line. Lets dispell the myths please. Millions of people were celebrating freedom from decades of oppression.
