The warped view of a Republican has to bring Medicare into a discussion about Big Stone II.

Larry - You ask about Medicare? The Republicans don't even want Medicare to exist! It's socialism! Larry, socialism is bad, did you forget that?

Larry, again, stop the nonsense. Who's advocating that all current coal plants be shut down? You're acting like a fool throwing out those baseless comments. Where did I suggest that a 20-Megawatt wind farm should replace a current coal plant?

Larry, grow a brain for once, a 20-Megawatt wind farm is going up in western Minnesota that will supplement what is already being created by other sources of electricity. Who ever said that wind power would replace coal power? Larry seriously think before you speak. It wouldn't take many wind farms to fill the gap of BS-II. And when a wind tower isn't turning, it won't mean the lights of a hospital will go out. That's a baseless fear-mongering comment, something I should come to expect from you!

Power usage was off 6% this year. Anybody notice that? This was an ECONOMIC decision. (They had all the permits.) When all was said and done, it seems more coal really is NOT the cheap option. Our region has plenty of power, and the east coast doesnt want to buy it here, they'll make their own. There was no market for Big Stone2. In that sense, CURE was right.

Larry, The only way the wind will stop blowing is when you quit making your stupid uniformed comments on here and we all know that isn`t going to happen.

Thanks alot, CURE, and all you other bug-eaters and tree-huggers. Alternative energy sources WON'T work right now, and you "environmentalists" fail to see that. CURE, and Patrick Moore, you got what you wanted, now stop complaining. You successfully stopped BSII from being built, but where do you idiots think electricity is going to come from? Do you not understand what is involved in the process? I personally have had it with CURE, and I think you all need to grow up and get real jobs.

10 wind towers are going up in Grant County a few miles from Hoffman, creating 20 megawatts. It will be operational in January 2010. A gigantic project. We can gradually replace our dependence on fossil fuels. It just takes guts and a little brain power. And private money is financing it - not a government handout.
