Well Luke, I look forward to hearing what they've got to say. My girlfriend is divorced. (Shame on her)

Jim, that was pathetic! Someone better tell my husband of 11 years and my 3 children with him if I am lesbian! And your comment just proves the point that laws with harsher penalties are needed, it is because of ignorant pigs that make comments like that! I am not gay, but love those that are as I love those that aren't (maybe with the exclusion of you!)

Re; this letter to th editer - I don't buy it. Enacting a law that makes crimes committed against homosexuals, because they are homosexual, a hate crime will not encourage more crime against homosexuals. That implies that those who would target homosexuals are no more mature than a child who does exactly the opposite of what their parent tells them to do, for the sake of being contrary. But, hey - maybe that is true... maybe those who target homosexuals are incredibly immature and rebellious, like children. However, that doesn't mean that this law shouldn't be passed - just like it doesn't mean that parents should not continue to guide and advise their children simply because they may, in fact, do exactly what the parent told them not to do. Classifying crimes specifically targeted against homosexuals a hate crime increases penalties... which may or may not be a deterrent... but for those that are not deterred, I guess they are willing to accept the increased consequences for their actions... and I don't see that as a bad thing. Passing this law isn't about accepting homosexuality - it's about not accepting the behavior of those who would choose to be personal judge and jury against another human being.

Wow, this guy is nuts. His argument against the bill is such that it implies there was no hate crime bill before it. There was and all this does it impose stricter penalties. By his logic, there was no need to reduce the legal limit for DUI, there is no need for capital punishment, and no need to increase penalties on any laws in the books because "they'll just do it anyway". His implication that the Obama administration doesn't like gays is to ludicrous to even respond to.

"On the contrary, with the passing of this bill, the perpetrators may be even more encouraged to commit crimes against gays." I like how he puts this little golden nugget in there and then doesn't even explain how. Great letter, way to make your points. Get a clue buddy. And I'm sure that none of the people who support this letter have kids having premarital sex. Cause if you do, you know they should be put to death according to the Bible, right? Quit picking and choosing passages out of the Bible to live by. It gets old and makes your point moot.

We all our responsible for our own soul. It is really a personal thing and in the end Rick is not going to be the one at the Pearly Gates deciding who gets in and who stays out. In my church, we believe that we will be met by a benevolent God who is loving and forgiving with open arms. And Jim, you don't need to be Lesbian to defend their right to live..your comment shows your ignorance.

How do we cure the urge to re-marry after you've been divorced? That's a sin too.
