We are repulsed by bestiality (and rightfully so!), really disturbed by polygamy, and we USE to be upset by homosexuality. Even people living together before marriage and divorce USE to seem like sin. How do WE decide how evil something is? We as humans seem so fickle in this choice. Luckily, we have the Bible to tell us what sin is. It also tells us that lust and thinking evil against someone are sin. Same as adultery and murder. It is all sin. It is about what is in our heart as much as our actions. Here is what I think. We are all sinners, some of us are saved by grace. We can ALL be saved by grace, it is our choice. After that we let God worry about our sin and convicting us of it.

I would like to know who gave you or this guy writting this letter the autority to decide if I am going to hell? I want to meet the God who put the two of you in charge of proclaiming to be the golden gate guardes! I think it is repugnant that you would ever proclaim to know the thoughts of God, to ever proclaim the actions of him! I find it repugnant that you as humans would condem another human! I feel sorry for you, I feel pitty for those around you. Most of all I feel compassion for you, I hope that one day you can see that it is not up ro us, We are at the whims of our maker and you are wrong for saying and acting this way!

Yet Rick doesn't the bible tell you not to jusdge others as it is for God to do, yet you continue to insist that being gay is wrong and will damn a person to hell! Wouldn't that be up to God to decide and not for you to judge? You can't have it both ways...You can't sit on a pedistal while throwing stones at others when you yourself are sinning! My point is that We are not the person to do the judging! So why further your own damnnation by continuing?

Exactly Rick. It is MY choice. Therefore, we should not tell people who they can get married to. It is their choice, and they can chose where they will spend the rest of eternity, if you are into that. Or they can live there life and try to be the best people they can be while on earth.

What is the old saying..."Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." I see a whole lot of sinners thinking they can throw stones! I think that every person is responsible for their own after life and we should stay out of others bedrooms! Why is this such an issue for some...why does it bother you who I or any other sleeps with? Is it really our job to tell others who they can love, or marry for that matter...I don't think so!

If there is a god that cares about gay people acting on their same-sex attractions, I would rather spend eternity in hell than any amount of time with him. There is no reason for anyone, including a deity, to care about what gay people do because it doesn't affect them. Its absolutely ridiculous to assume that your god is right. Even if you had evidence that he exists, there is no reason to think that his rules are moral and just.

I quote the great Jermaine Clement. "I'm a person. You're a person. That person over there is a person." And the great Sly Stone "I am no better, and neither are you." This shouldn't be an issue. In the grand scheme of the cosmos, it doesn't really matter anyway, the universe doesn't care about us. As Carl Sagan said "For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring."

Rick judgmental is a word you are using freely because you have no answer for the hypocrisy shown by some GOP party leaders. Rick if you bother to read the comments the way they are written, it is your friends and party members who cast stones and make a point out of condemning opposite party members. When the shoe is on the other foot, you cry judgmental. People like Larry and Harold are prime examples of pointing fingers at people like the Kennedy, and Clinton when no one is defending their actions. The documented incidents of Republican leaders molesting children, having sex with pages, and paying for sex with gays are the same people throwing stones. Prime example was senator Craig who had some choice names for Clinton's behavior in the whitehouse. But when he was caught tapping on a public restroom floor looking for a male sex partner, he lied straight face to the cop who caught him red handed. He then proceeded to spend several hundred thousand of tax payers money for his so called defense. Rick when some of your holier then thou friends can't find words to defend their opinions they resort to name calling and scare tactics to drive home their far fetched propaganda. Mr young is just another gas bag who speaks to hear himself speak, and who knows what his preferences are after dark? We all know the Catholic church does not condone homosexual behavior, but some of their priests are not only criminally responsible for molesting young boys, but they are engaging in homosexual behavior, and the church has covered it up. Hate crime legislation is not a race card Rick, is meant to be a preventive measure, to ensure a persons rights no matter what their color, or their beliefs are, and gives the law teeth. There have been a good number of gays attacked, beaten, and even killed. Jewish places of worship bombed or burned. If homosexual behavior is based on Biblical teachings, then why do we have so many priests engaging in this behavior?

I hope this gay marriage issue stays around for awhile - it sure doesn't help the Republicans, with their closet full of hypocrites!
