Duane read the history, Regan made the speech, but that is not why the wall came down. The Soviet Union could not afford to protect the wall, and their communist style of oppressive behavior finally caught up to them, they were going broke, plain and simple. Do you think for one minute Russia will do anything we tell them to do? It took a combination of things to finally cause change. Gorbachev was facing a bankrupt country, and their priorities had to change. I liked Regan the same as others did, and he was never afraid to speak his mind for the good of this nation, but it was more then words that brought down the wall.

I wonder if the liberal media will ever give credit to Margaret Thatcher, Pope John Paul II and Ronald Reagan who were instrumental in the collapse of the Berlin Wall. To here Gorbachev getting the credit just defies reality.
