But in any city (other than danube) if a police officer is being investigated.. BAM this police officer is on leave.. (that is the no brainer)

Apparently Ron thinks breaking the law is ok. Funny he doesn't say that about illegal immigrants. Obviously everyone should wait for a verdict but if he's found guilty, he should not be able to continue in a law enforcement capacity. The fact that people are willing put someone above the law is amazing to me.. especially a police officer. If he's found guilty and allowed to stay, every arrest he makes will be easily defended because of his own suspect record. From a purely practical standpoint, it's a no-brainer.

As part of a small community an officer sontriversy is hard to deal with , made even harder when it is a well liked officer, but the fact remains that if they paid the money back...they admited to taking it! He should have been put on leave and if or when he is found not guilty he should be allowed back! Obviously if he is foud guilty he can no longer hold an officers position! It has nothing to do with him being a good guy or not...it is the law ans as an office of the law he should be held to a higher standard!

Lets wait and see what the courts decide. "Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. For the judgement you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get." Matthew 7. 1-2

I agree Gary R. The money was paid back along time ago. They all should get together and settle this now. It looks to me like maybe he gave one or two of the people whining or their relatives a ticket and thats why the hassle. Danube is a good little town. Don`t let a few whiners ruin it.
