I agree with Carie. You can't put your family out there and then complain that people won't leave your family alone.

Well, Bob - let me be clear - not once have I made a comment about Sarah Palin's family, and nor would I. I do agree - Levi has put himself out there, and as a result has opened the door to public opinion himself. Sarah does talk quite a bit about her family - she includes their personal lives in her public life - and one could argue that Sarah opened that door herself... however, I personally have no judgements to offer up about any member of the Palin family other than Sarah herself.

Carie L., Governor Palin is a public figure and fair game, but her family is not. I hope you will learn the difference. I presume your argument will now be she used her family in her campaign, so did President Obama, but you will see few, if none, remarks made about the Obama family. That is the way people with common sense treat the situation and the way it should be. Levi Johnston is fair game as he has apparently decided he does not want to be a part of the family nor part of raising the child he helped conceive. Lets leave it at that allowing people to make their own judgement and opinion.

There's a comment (by Duane) about liberals picking on private citizens... but, the thing is, the Palins are not "private" citizens, not even close. Palins are public figures - and they are so, by choice... Sarah's on a book tour, and is giving interviews to Oprah, Sarah also utilizes MySpace, FaceBook, and Twitter on a daily basis - that kind of negates the whole "private citizen" thing, at least in my opinion...

First off, I was mortified with the comment Jon T made. The comment punched me in the gut as I read it. I am disappointed with the WCT for even allowing such a comment be made and published. It is true that when people demean others and their families, especially comments like that, they are obviously not smart enough to say anything of importance. Very similar to the way elementary school children act on the playground, which tells us what type of brain level he is working with. Second, if people don't think this is news or care about it, then don't take the time to comment and it will go away. If no one makes a deal out of it, then it is not news anymore. Thirdly, if Palin is out for money, then go for it. That is what we are all out for. If she can make a couple of bucks in her brief moment of positive or negative popularity, then go for it. If you don't like it, don't buy the book, don't watch the interviews, leave it lie. If not enough care, it goes away. Lastly, she herself probably knows best that running for elections is not in her best interest. If she says it is not on the radar, why do people keep asking, because they want to mock her and keep a good story going, a story to keep bashing someone.

Bob, I'm hoping it will be gone soon. I reported it long before I posted about it. I was hoping his comment would have been removed so I wouldn't have to to comment on it. It is very sad when people comment like that.

Casey O., I give you credit for your comment regarding the on called for post by Jon T. Your fellow posters do not seem to share that objection. Luke J., with the current free fall and lack of foreign policy sucess of President Obama(Obownow), Palin will soon look like Joan of Arc. :<)

Harold-Nobody in the Democratic Party is upset with President Obama picking Joe Biden over Hillary Clinton for the VP slot. I have no idea where you get that notion from. She is Secretary of State for pete's sake! She holds the same job as Henry Kissinger and Madeline Ahlbright did! She was an exceptionally savvy pick for the job as her approval ratings among other countries is extremely high. Since the job of Secretary of State requires nothing but dealing with other countries and their leaders it makes a whole lot of sense to pick someone who is respected by those leaders. Since you hate anyone who even shows a hint of "liberalism" in their thinking, I can't imagine where you get the idea that you know what they are thiking.

If an officer arrested you for going in your own home, what would you say about that officer?... As far as Jon goes, that is a terrible comment.
